The Colorado Sun and San Juan Citizens Alliance are excited to host a day of Animas River education and stewardship at the Durango Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.
Dig into key water issues in southwest Colorado and along the Animas River during a short panel discussion from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Durango Public Library. Three local experts will discuss conservation and stewardship actions along the river, clarify lingering questions about water quality, and explain local water use and supply — now and in the future.
Turn discussion into action by joining us for a river clean-up along the Animas River Trail from the library to the 33rd Street put-in. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Durango Public Library parking lot at 11:15 a.m. and to provide their own lunch, snacks and water. They are encouraged to bike or carpool to their designated clean up areas. Trash pick-up supplies will be provided.
Colorado Sun Water Reporter Shannon Mullane will moderate the panel.
